Hello, the name’s John and I am a freelance artist and designer at JWE Art & Design. My design set-up is at my residence in Yishun and has been in existence since 2006. I am a self-taught artist and graphic designer of the old school retro era. Editorial, logo and typography design are what I do best.
I have always been fascinated by fine art and design since I was 6. I love to illustrate in graphite, colour pencil and water colour. I love and breathe art and design. Van Gogh, Dali and our very own Mr Ong Kim Seng have been my constant inspirations in my creative journey.

What is graphic design ?
Graphic design is the art of communicating information visually with the help of images and words. As a graphic designer our job is to arrange and use different types of elements. The designs are usually portrayed through a poster, illustration, package, etc. Graphic design is found almost everywhere including newspapers, books, credit cards, skateboards, etc. There is a need for design as it creates an identity which is always followed by meaning. Identity is necessary as it helps us differentiate between brands and is etched in our minds.
